World Oral Health Day in 2013 - Event Company YesEvents

In the afternoon on 20/3/2013 at Quan Ngua Stadium (HN), Vietnam Odonto – Stomatology Association (VOSA) cooperated with Unilever Vietnam to host the event "World Oral Health Day” with 2013 theme "Better teeth for better life”.

This is the first time "World Oral Health Day” was held in Vietnam, consisting of various activities to spread and increase awareness of oral health importance to the public. The event drew over 2,500 pupils in Hanoi and more than 500 guests in dentistry. 

Side activities responding to the oral health week were also embarked by VOSA in cooperation with other departments and units in both public and private dentistry across the country, at 11 Dental Hospitals and General Hospitals, more than 200 dental clinics in major cities such as Hochiminh, Hanoi, Danang and Can Tho during 18-22/3. Examples of activities: free oral examination and treatment, discounted Oral and maxillofacial surgery, free distribution of toothpaste and toothbrush for elementary pupils, meetings to enhance oral health . All costs and P/S oral-care products were sponsored by P/S – Unilever Vietnam.

Also, echoing to the "World Oral Health Day” Ministry of Education and Training partnered with Program P/S Protecting Vietnamese children’ smile in the name of over 7 million elementary schoolers across the country to commit for brushing teeth twice a day at least, in order to increase self-oral health, secure good studying and total health.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, 90% population of Vietnam suffering oral diseases and more than ½ has not been paying sufficient attention to oral health care. Given this fact, bringing "World Oral Health Day” to Vietnam along a series of essential activities will contribute to enhance people’s awareness in oral health care.
